Job summary

MidAmerican Energy Company seeks a Software Engineer 3 / Senior Software Engineer to design, implement, test and deploy complex software applications and systems. The role emphasizes technical leadership, architecture, and secure development practices across business-critical projects.

You will evaluate software packages, advise management and clients, and develop plans for adopting new technologies to meet evolving business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum six years in business software application design, development, integration and/or installation for Software Engineer 3.
• Minimum eight years for Sr Software Engineer; strong Java/.NET, web frameworks (React/Angular).

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical lead for highly complex projects in software development and system integration.
• Perform project planning, system analysis, design, coding, testing and documentation for software projects.
• Provide technical leadership to staff; mentor teammates and assign work by priority.
• Oversee development to ensure performance, interoperability, and secure development lifecycle compliance.
• Collaborate with IT teams to identify deficiencies and drive improvements.
