Job summary

BlueMatrix is seeking a seasoned Software Engineer to lead a team, architect and deliver client-facing components, and drive best practices across the engineering function. You will work with ReactJS, Java, PostgreSQL, Docker, and AWS to build scalable microservices in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes owning sprint planning, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with Product, Design, and stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with leadership exposure.
• Hands-on experience building production applications with Java, ReactJS, and PostgreSQL, and Docker-based deployments.
• Experience designing scalable, production-ready systems and applications.
• Comfortable contributing to frontend and/or backend codebases as needed.
• Solid understanding of modern development practices, architecture patterns, and tooling.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
• Experience delivering reliable, high-performance REST APIs.
• Strong interest in database and query performance tuning.
• Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies.
• Experience with code reviews, service ownership, automated testing, microservices, and rapid releases.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and support a team of engineers, fostering ownership and collaboration.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code and guide architecture and reviews.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and other stakeholders to deliver user-centered solutions.
• Shape epics, plan sprints, and prioritize the backlog with the team.
• Own sprint planning, delivery timelines, and status reporting; manage dependencies and risks.
