Job summary

Rise Technical in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a YC-backed startup solving a real-world problem. Based in downtown Austin, this onsite role offers a competitive $150,000–$220,000 package plus meaningful equity and comprehensive medical benefits.

You will build and scale backend services and full-stack features for high-volume payments, using Python, AWS Serverless, React, TypeScript and Flutter. You’ll work closely with founders and help shape the platform's direction.

Qualifications

• Strong backend or full-stack software engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals with experience across cloud and modern web technologies.
• AWS experience highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale backend services and full-stack features for high-volume payment flows.
• Develop Python microservices using AWS Serverless (Lambda, DynamoDB, CDK).
• Contribute across React, TypeScript, Next.js and Flutter.
• Improve reliability, performance and scalability across 24/7 payments infrastructure.
• Work directly with founders and influence technical direction.

Are you a Senior Software Engineer looking to join a YC and top-tier Silicon Valley VC-backed startup solving a genuine real-world problem?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a revenue-generating Austin startup with a high-performing engineering team, strong financial backing and significant growth ahead.

Based in downtown Austin, they are rapidly establishing themselves within the payments industry and are now looking for exceptional engineers to help scale the platform.

The stack includes Python, AWS Serverless, React, TypeScript and Flutter, although the team is largely code-agnostic and cares more about strong engineering fundamentals, ownership and the ability to solve difficult problems.

The Role

• Build and scale backend services and full-stack features for high-volume payment flows
