Job summary

General Motors Corporation in Warren, Michigan seeks a Senior Software Engineer to drive the Mechatronic Abstraction Interface across the full software lifecycle—from requirements and design to deployment and maintenance—within GM's new electronic architecture.

You will work on a hybrid team, applying C/C++, RTOS, CAN/LIN, SOME/IP, DDS and REST, with AutoSAR/Adaptive AutoSAR, Scrum practices, and SCM tools to deliver scalable, secure in-vehicle software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Consultant, or related occupation OR Master's degree with 3 years experience in related field.
• Experience with automotive control systems and RTOS; C/C++ programming; shell scripting; CAN/LIN; SOME/IP, DDS, REST; Scrum/Agile and SCM tools.

Responsibilities

• Build, integrate, and optimize the Mechatronic Abstraction Interface.
• Own the full lifecycle: requirements, design, development, deployment, maintenance.
• Contribute to design of the in-vehicle Abstracted Mechatronic Platform for GM's new architecture.
• Ensure solutions meet scalability, maintainability, reliability, extensibility, usability and security.

Responsible for the entire life cycle of the assigned product, including requirements, system design, development, deployment, and maintenance of the software modules. Participate in the design of a best-inclass in-vehicle Abstracted Mechatronic Platform for GM new electronic architecture. Follow software development process and ensure that the designed solutions conform to architectural requirements such as scalability, maintainability, reliability, extensibility, usability and security.
