Job summary

M&T Bank Corporation is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Snowflake Platform Engineering team in Buffalo, NY. The role focuses on building resilient data engineering frameworks, performance improvements, and scalable platform capabilities.

You will design features, own Python code, and support existing applications while collaborating with product teams. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in systems analysis or application development, strong Python expertise, and experience with

Qualifications

Associate's degree and a minimum of 5 years systems analysis and/or application development work experience.
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years systems analysis and/or application development work experience.
In lieu of degree, a combined minimum of 7 years education and/or relevant work experience, including a minimum of 3 years systems analysis and/or application development work experience.
Advanced proficiency in minimum of 1 relevant programming language.

Responsibilities

Design new features for our projects, leading junior team members through implementation.
Build and support core ingestion / transformation / deployment frameworks.
Drive standardization across Medallion architecture patterns.
Partner with product teams on performance + resiliency improvements.
Support production stability and platform governance.
Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite.
