Lockheed Martin Skunk Works seeks a Senior Software Engineer to drive the full software development lifecycle, delivering avionics services and safety-critical software while integrating flight-critical hardware subsystems. You will work across host systems, simulations, and live assets, with familiarity in Windows/Linux and tooling like GitLab and Jira.

The role requires mentoring junior engineers, collaboration in a team environment, and adherence to MIL-STD-516C, DO-178, and related

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent with at least 5 years' experience.
Experience with C and/or C++.
Experience with Linux or RTOS and associated toolchains.
Experience with the software development process in a team environment (peer reviews, unit testing, configuration management, defect tracking).
Experience mentoring and training junior engineers or in lead/senior engineer role.

Responsibilities

Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, including requirements generation, design, implementation, integration and flight test.
Develop next generation avionics services and safety-critical software and integrate flight-critical hardware subsystems.
Participate in end-to-end integration activities with host systems, simulations, and live assets.
Apply software standards and processes across the development life cycle.
