Job summary

TGS is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Seismic Acquisition Technology team. This hands-on role sits in an operationally demanding environment—building and maintaining mission-critical software for live marine seismic campaigns, vessel operations, and data delivery workflows.

You will collaborate with geophysicists, field engineers, and infrastructure specialists to design reliable, high-performance solutions, mentor juniors, and contribute to standards, processes, and HSEQ

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong C/C++ with OO design.
• Proficiency in Python and Linux systems.
• PostgreSQL and relational databases expertise.
• Experience with distributed, real-time data pipelines.
• Ability to work independently in fast-moving environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software systems supporting seismic data acquisition, QC pipelines, and data delivery workflows.
• Assist with the development of strategic plans and technical roadmaps.
• Manage projects from concept to completion, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
• Interface with clients and stakeholders to translate project requirements into robust software solutions.
• Review and debug code; perform validation and verification testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including geophysicists, field engineers, and infrastructure specialists.
• Contribute to infrastructure decisions including server, networking, and embedded/real-time system integrations.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical standards and best practices.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and HSEQ standards.
• Managing & Planning — Independently plan, coordinate, and assign tasks to complete projects while effectively reporting progress.
• Complexity — Analyze comprehensively and diagnose technical issues to ensure sound solutions and advice.
