Job summary

EVgo is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer III with a strong security focus to lead security design and implement robust software across our cloud and edge environments. You will guide security strategy, mentor teams, and collaborate with Product, Data, and Marketing to align architectural decisions with business goals.

You will drive secure design decisions, review code, and contribute to greenfield initiatives, ensuring scalable, reliable, and compliant software across EVgo’s charging

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience designing secure software for cloud-based or IoT platforms.
• Experience with authorization strategies and security engineering.

Responsibilities

• Drive security design and best practices across cloud, platform, and client implementations.
• Develop and expand core engineering components to meet EVgo’s strategic goals.
• Collaborate with Product/Design to evaluate trade-offs and deliver secure solutions.
• Work with cross-functional teams to deliver complete software solutions.
• Provide technical guidance, focus on availability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Mentor engineers and conduct code reviews to foster growth.
• Contribute to greenfield projects and drive security innovations.
