Job summary

Blue Coding is seeking a Software Engineer to join a US client in a fully remote role focused on security vulnerability remediation. You’ll triage findings from Snyk, fix quick wins in Ruby and Python, and progressively modernize codebases.

You’ll work embedded with client teams, contribute tests, and document changes for cross-team reuse. The role requires 3+ years of development experience, strong Ruby skills, Python familiarity, and English fluency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of software development experience.
• Solid hands-on experience with Ruby.
• Experience with Python.
• Experience with dependency management (Bundler/RubyGems, pip).
• Strong knowledge of Git and pull request workflows.
• Experience with relational databases.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests.
• Fluent English and strong written communication.
• Availability to work US time zone hours in a fast-paced agile team.

Responsibilities

• Review and triage findings from security tools and prioritize by severity.
• Fix vulnerabilities in Ruby, Python, and .NET projects as appropriate.
• Upgrade dependencies and update container images and IaC as needed.
• Write clear pull requests with justification and testing details.
• Maintain Jira tickets and Snyk remediation status.
• Collaborate with teams during stand-ups and sprints and document fixes for reuse.
• Escalate issues requiring architectural changes or breaking upgrades.
