Job summary

Apple is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Security Automation in Seattle. You will build and refactor critical components across backend services, frontend tooling, and data models to support security reviewers and analysts.

You will own delivery from design to production, mentor engineers, and collaborate with security teams to deliver trusted software with scalable automation. This role offers Apple’s comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building, operating, and maintaining production software.
• Proficient in at least one of Python, Go, or Java.
• Experience with TypeScript and React for production frontends.
• Hands-on with cloud infra, containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and IaC.
• Experience refactoring legacy systems and building new ones from scratch.
• Experience with operational excellence: staged deployments, observability, testing.

Responsibilities

• Implement backend services end-to-end; frontends used by security reviewers; and data models for findings.
• Move between systems based on priority; build or integrate with existing security tooling.
• Refactor legacy systems and migrate to new platforms with minimal disruption.
• Onboard tools as building blocks; reduce data, storage, and UI plumbing efforts.
• Mentor engineers through design/code reviews and pairing.
• Define readiness criteria, SLAs, and rollback paths for production systems.
• Collaborate with security engineers to deliver trusted software.
