Job summary

Google Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer III for the Secure Network Infrastructure (SecNI) team in Sunnyvale, CA. You will contribute to securing Google’s network devices, including AI/ML and optical fabrics, and work with internal and industry partners on device enrollment and attestation workflows.

The role emphasizes building distributed security systems, using Go, Bazel, and OpenConfig/AttestZ repositories, with opportunities to impact scale and security across Google's fleet.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of software development experience with one or more programming languages (Go, Rust, C++).
• Experience building distributed security systems and available services.
• Experience in web services standards (HTTP, REST, SOAP, OAuth).
• Master’s degree or PhD in CS or related field preferred.
• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience with cryptographic algorithms and protocols.
• Experience in cyber security domains (threat hunting, malware analysis, detection engineering, incident response).

Responsibilities

• Develop services and client code, scripts, and tests in languages such as Go, Rust, Bash to monitor and verify security of remote networking devices across Google fleet.
