Job summary

Cox Automotive in Atlanta is seeking a Sr Software Engineer to apply secure software engineering principles to design, develop, test, and evaluate software and cloud infrastructure. You will work cross-functionally to understand business requirements, architecture and technology direction, and ensure systems are scalable, secure and user-friendly.

The role emphasizes agile development, collaboration, and delivery of business value, with potential on-call rotations and a hybrid work option

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 4 years’ experience in a related field; or a master’s degree with 2 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and 1 year in a related field; or 12 years’ experience with no degree.
Skilled in analytical thinking, requirements analysis, software installation and support, system and technology integration, and technical troubleshooting.
Availability for rotational on-call duties outside of standard business hours may be required.

Responsibilities

Serves as a participating member on teams tasked to develop, improve and deliver product / system elements and features.
Breaks down functional and business requirements into tangible, clear and estimable objectives, providing recommendations to management and project team members.
Writes end-to-end automated tests to provide code coverage for business-critical components.
Ensures quality, performance and adherence to specifications of assigned development tasks and adjacent technology solutions.
Works with fellow team members to ensure design, development and execution align with and support adjacencies and adhere to established architectural standards.
Notifies team or technical manager of variances from plans and identifies changes in scope or work.
Helps define and support implementation of coding standards.
May offer technical guidance to less experienced team members.
