Docker is seeking a seasoned software engineer to lead the Sandboxes team, delivering secure, isolated runtime environments and scalable sandboxing infrastructure used by developers worldwide. You will shape architecture across multi-platform integration and collaborate with open source communities.

The role emphasizes autonomy in a remote-first environment, with strong focus on performance, correctness, and developer tooling for agent-driven workloads.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with leadership on production systems at scale.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience building developer tools, desktop applications, or runtime infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and lead improvements to the sandboxes product across agent integration, tool permissions, and developer workflows.
• Investigate and resolve correctness, performance, and stability issues in the agent integration layer across macOS, Windows, and Linux.
• Drive reliability and performance of sandbox creation, session management, and teardown for AI workloads.
• Collaborate with Product and adjacent teams to evolve architecture as requirements grow.
• Mentor engineers and set high standards in design and code reviews.
• Engage with open source and agentic development communities around sandboxing.
