Order.co in New York, NY is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build and scale the core platform that automates and optimizes purchase order workflows for industrial manufacturers. You will lead architecture and development across Node.js, React, PostgreSQL, and AWS services.

You will thrive in a fast-growing environment, mentoring engineers, and shaping system design while delivering high-availability solutions that handle millions of transactions daily.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience, including 5+ years in high-growth startup environments (Seed to Series C+).
• Strong track record of building scalable systems using Node.js, React, PostgreSQL, and AWS services.
• Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic settings while contributing to both strategy and execution.
• Experience in leading technical projects, mentoring engineers, and making impactful architectural decisions.
• Exceptional debugging and performance optimization skills, with a focus on fault-tolerant design.
• Excitement about tackling legacy challenges and modernizing systems at scale.

Responsibilities

• Architect & Design: Lead the architecture and design of distributed systems to ensure scalability, performance, and high availability.
• Develop & Build: Write, test, and maintain robust code in Node.js , React , and PostgreSQL .
• Infrastructure Expertise: Build and manage AWS-based infrastructure (Lambda, EC2, RDS, S3, API Gateway, MSK/Kafka).
• Collaborate: Work closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to define and deliver on the roadmap.
• Mentor & Guide: Coach and mentor junior engineers, fostering technical growth and collaboration.
• Problem-Solve: Lead investigations into performance issues, bottlenecks, and scalability challenges in a data-intensive environment.
• Adapt: Operate effectively in a fast-moving, dynamic environment with evolving priorities and challenges.
