Ripple is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the RippleX Platform Engineering team in San Francisco to ensure reliable, scalable XRPL infrastructure and automated tooling. You will design platform components, automate pipelines, and mentor engineers across teams.

Requires 4+ years in cloud-native infra, strong Go/Python/Java skills, Kubernetes experience, and IaC tooling. Join a team focused on velocity, security, and cost-efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

4+ years of professional experience in cloud-native infrastructure.
Experience operating at scale (AWS/GCP preferred).
Strong coding in Go, Python, or Java with Linux systems knowledge.
Hands-on with Kubernetes (EKS or equivalent) and container runtimes (Docker/OCI).
Experience building CI/CD pipelines and IaC (Terraform/Helm/Ansible).
Familiarity with Prometheus/Grafana or similar observability tools.

THE WORK

As a Senior Software Engineer on the RippleX Platform Engineering team, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of XRPL infrastructure. The Platform team operates at the intersection of software engineering, infrastructure, and operations—managing critical services, public test environments, and internal developer tooling. With strong foundations in DevOps and GitOps, the team is focused on delivering fully automated, highly available, and cost-efficient systems that enable developer velocity and protect the health of the XRPL ecosystem.

In this role, you’ll drive the design and development of platform components and infrastructure services that support distributed, high-throughput systems. You’ll help evolve core systems through automation, monitoring, and incident response, while influencing technical direction and mentoring other engineers.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Design and implement scalable and resilient infrastructure supporting production-grade XRPL services and public blockchain networks.
Build automation for infrastructure lifecycle, CI/CD workflows, and deployment pipelines using tools like Terraform, Helm, and GitHub Actions.
Develop systems and services that support observability, secret management, disaster recovery, and regional failover.
Improve platform reliability through proactive instrumentation, alerting, and incident response in collaboration with observability and security teams.
Contribute to and maintain internal tooling, self-service workflows, and platform capabilities that support developer efficiency and service delivery.
Evaluate new tools to improve infrastructure scalability and reduce manual overhead.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience.
4+ years of professional experience, including 2+ years operating cloud-native infrastructure at scale (AWS/GCP preferred).
Strong programming skills in Go, Python, or Java, with a deep understanding of Linux systems, networking, and concurrency.
Proven experience with Kubernetes (EKS or similar), container runtimes (Docker/OCI), and service meshes (Istio, Linkerd, etc.).
Hands‑on experience building CI/CD pipelines and deploying infrastructure using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or similar.
Expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform, Helm, Ansible) and related automation practices.
Familiarity with distributed systems monitoring and observability using Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent tools.
Strong leadership and collaboration skills—able to align technical execution across teams while mentoring and developing talent.
Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities, with a focus on driving outcomes in complex and evolving environments.

For positions that will be based in CA, the annual salary range for this position is below. Actual salaries may vary based on numerous factors including, among other things, an individual applicant’s experience and qualifications for the position. This range does not include equity or additional compensation, such as bonuses or commissions.

CA Annual Base Salary Range: $172,000 USD - $215,000 USD
