Job summary

Toast is hiring engineers to support our largest retail customers, including major grocery chains and local stores. You will partner with engineering and product to design and prototype end-to-end solutions, laying the groundwork for a scalable retail platform.

The role involves direct customer engagement, field visits, and building AI-native experiences powered by Toast IQ. EST-preferred hybrid locations include remote, Boston, and New York.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience building and shipping production software to customers.
• Experience with Java, Kotlin, or other object oriented programming languages.
• Comfortable using different tech stacks and languages.
• Familiar with testing methodologies and frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with engineering and product leads to identify high-impact opportunities in the domain.
• Plan, scope, and prototype solutions from design to rollout focusing on end-to-end delivery.
• Make technical decisions that lay the foundation for the retail platform's future.
• Stay in tune with customer needs by gathering direct feedback and monitoring industry trends.
• Deploy AI-native experiences powered by Toast IQ to delight customers.
