Job summary

Lumen Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and debug software in an Agile team. You will deliver scalable, production-grade systems and work on GoLang and Java, Temporal workflows, and RESTful services.

You will collaborate with partners to meet business goals, write automated tests, document work, and participate in code reviews. Experience with cloud services and AI developer tools is valued.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience.
• “4 + years of experience with a master’s degree.”
• Experience with software development methodologies, standards, and coding best practices.
• Experience with Agile practices, including planning and grooming, sprint management, daily standup, and retrospective participation.
• Experience with GoLang and Java.
• Experience with Temporal Workflow.
• Experience with Oracle RDBMS, writing PL/SQL.
• Experience with Unix/Linux shell scripting.
• REST API Services is a plus.
• Fluent with Frameworks and Libraries such as Spring Boot (Advanced), Spring Framework (Core, Data, Security, MVC), Hibernate/JPA, Apache Kafka/Confluent Kafka, RESTful Web Services and JUnit/TestNG for testing.
• Efficient with Cloud Platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure).
• Experience with cloud services like AKS, Logic Apps, Service Bus.
• Experience using AI Developer tools (Cursor, Github Copilot, Claude Code).
• Experience in developing scalable high-performance systems for high data volume processing.
