Job summary
Cisco Isovalent is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join the software agent team. You will design, develop, and deploy high-performance agents across Linux/Unix/Windows, enabling secure workload visibility and policy enforcement in cloud and data-center environments.
The role requires strong C/C++ systems programming, OS fundamentals, and debugging skills. Hybrid work with some onsite days in the Bay Area, within U.S. locations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of software development experience or Master's with 4+ years.
- Experience with systems programming using C or C++, including multi-threaded and multi-process development.
- Experience operating system fundamentals: threads, processes, file systems, networking and IPC.
- Experience debugging and troubleshooting complex software systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and improve high-performance software agents.
- Operate across Linux, Unix, and Windows environments and multiple architectures.
- Enforce network policies from a central controller and monitor container deployments.
- Analyze complex software systems involving interactions between processes and OS kernels.
- Collaborate with software, data, UX/UI engineers and cross-functional partners.
- Participate in the product lifecycle from design to production deployment and ongoing improvement.
