Job summary

TaxPlanIQ is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with extensive full-stack experience to modernize and expand our tax advisory platform. You will own critical code areas, craft maintainable features, and drive architectural decisions while leveraging AI-assisted tools to boost productivity.

You will report to the CTO and collaborate across frontend and backend teams to deliver scalable solutions. You will work with Angular, TypeScript, Java, Python, SQL, and modern DevOps practices to ship robust

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years experience in software engineering.
• Advanced skill in Angular, Typescript, SQL.
• Advanced problem-solving skills with a creative mindset.
• Experience building and maintaining REST APIs in Java and Python.
• Experience with CI/CD, Git workflows, and testing practices.
• Proficiency with AI-assisted and agentic coding tools (Claude Code).
• Prior experience in tax software or regulated financial domains is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Refactor and modernize code using modern design principles to create scalable, maintainable and well documented code.
• Maintain existing code through defect correction, refactoring and feature enhancements.
• Interpret requirements, create technical documents and provide engineer level scope of work.
• Maintain coding standards and security best practices.
• Use AI-assisted and agentic coding tools to accelerate delivery while owning correctness, security, performance, and maintainability.
