Description & Requirements

Our group:
The Data Services group handles core data and analytics services, serving hundreds of billions of requests daily across Bloomberg Terminal and Enterprise applications. This includes foundational services like Data Gateway, Security ID Master, Metadata Infrastructure, Insights, and Anomaly Detection System. With increasing data volumes and growth in Bloomberg's enterprise products, this footprint expands approximately 25% annually.

Our team:
We are working on a large initiative to organize data using Semantic Technologies, developing a triplestore, a type of graph database. This knowledge graph models, serializes, and links data to facilitate complex queries, such as impact analyses of recent election results. The database will store semantic models and datasets used by various engineering teams, requiring high availability, reliability, and optimal runtime characteristics.

Our tech stack: RDF4J, LMDB/RocksDB, Postgres, Java, Python, SPARQL, SHACL, Inferencers, R2RML, RDF

Requirements:

• 4+ years of professional software development experience
• A Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent work experience
• Expertise in Database Internals (e.g., developed a replicated database)

Preferred:

• Experience with Eclipse RDF4J, Apache Jena, and/or Triplestores
• Experience with LMDB and/or RocksDB

Salary Range: $160,000 - $240,000 USD annually + Benefits + Bonus

The salary range is based on the company's good faith belief at posting time; actual compensation may vary based on location, experience, education, and skills.
