Job summary

Atom Computing is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build the software platform that orchestrates our quantum computers. You will work on the systems that coordinate workloads, interface with hardware control, and manage experimental data in a Linux environment.

The role is primarily backend with some frontend work, using Python, Rust, and TypeScript/React, and based in Boulder, CO or Austin, TX. Join a tight-knit team driving quantum computing forward.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in production environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (Master's/PhD welcome).
• Proficiency with Python and SQL.
• Experience operating software in Linux environments and with Git and automated testing.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS/GCP) and Terraform.
• Experience with TypeScript/React frontend.
• Experience with C++ or Rust.
• Proven track record of architecture‑level features in complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain software stack for orchestrating quantum computing workloads.
• Rewrite prototype code into reliable, well‑tested services.
• Develop infrastructure for automating system tuning and calibration.
• Develop software for scheduling and analyzing quantum algorithms.
• Collaborate with Quantum Engineers to ensure clean, extensible code.
