Job summary

Atom Computing is seeking a Software Engineer to build the software platform that orchestrates quantum computers. You will work on systems that coordinate workloads, interface with hardware control, and manage experimental data on a Linux-based stack.

This is primarily a backend role with some frontend work in TypeScript/React. The position is based in our Boulder, CO office and requires collaboration with a tight-knit team of software and quantum engineers, reporting to the Software Engineering

Qualifications

• This role requires a Bachelor's degree in CS/CE or related field and 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency with Python and familiarity with Git, automated testing, and modern development practices is essential.
• Interest in atomic/optical physics concepts to contextualize software work is desired.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain software that orchestrates quantum computing workloads and interfaces with hardware control teams.
• Rewrite prototype research code into reliable, well-tested services.
• Develop infrastructure for system tuning, calibration, and scheduling quantum algorithms.
• Collaborate with Quantum Engineers to implement extensible, well-tested code for experiments.
