LSEG (FTSE Russell) seeks a Senior Software Engineer for the Index Research & Design team to build scalable research platforms and production-ready software that power next-gen index research and product innovation.
Work alongside quantitative researchers and engineers to transform ideas into robust software, leveraging modern Python tools (Polars, PyArrow, SQL) and cloud services (AWS). Emphasis on AI-enabled development and reproducible practices across the stack.
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Index Research & Design team and help build the technology that powers the next generation of index research and product innovation.
Working at the intersection of quantitative finance, software engineering, and cloud technologies, you will develop scalable research platforms, analytical libraries, and production-ready software that accelerate research and support the delivery of innovative index products.
You will collaborate closely with quantitative researchers, product specialists, and engineering teams to transform research ideas into robust, reusable software while driving the adoption of modern software engineering practices and AI-enabled development tools.
The Index Research & Design team is redefining how index research is developed, implemented, and delivered. We are investing in modern software engineering, cloud-native technologies, and AI-enabled workflows to build a scalable research platform that supports innovation across FTSE Russell.
This role offers the opportunity to work alongside leading quantitative researchers, engineers, and product specialists while building technology that directly supports globally recognised index products. You will have the opportunity to introduce new technologies, improve research productivity, and help shape the future of research and product development across the organisation.
Manager
LSEG is committed to offering competitive Compensation and Benefits. The anticipated base salary for this position is $192,400 - $320,600.
Please be aware base salary ranges may vary by geographic location, city and state. In addition to our offered base salary, this role is eligible for our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP/”bonus plan”). Target AIP rates will be commensurate with role level and posted career stage. Individual salary will be reflective of job related knowledge, skills and equivalent experience. LSEG roles (excluding internships and part-time roles of less than 20 hours per week) are typically eligible for inclusion in our LSEG Benefits program, which includes offerings of:
