ID.me is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Quality Engineering in Mountain View, CA. You will own automation frameworks, testing infrastructure, and AI-assisted testing to accelerate ship readiness while ensuring security and reliability across distributed services.

You will lead end-to-end and integration testing, champion canary deployments, and integrate tests into GitHub Actions pipelines, collaborating with product and security teams to raise quality standards in a fast-paced, on-site

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as a software engineer in web apps and distributed systems.
• Hands-on with Playwright, Jest, and API automation.
• Experience testing REST APIs, microservices, and distributed architectures.
• Strong understanding of OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and auth flows.
• Experience with Temporal and testing-in-production concepts.
• CI/CD integration with GitHub Actions and ArgoCD.
• Security testing, RBAC/ReBAC, and tenant isolation knowledge.
• Ability to design automation strategies for complex workflows.
• Experience with debugging across frontend, backend, APIs and distributed services.
• Familiarity with agentic tools for test generation and reviews.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automation frameworks (Playwright, Python, Jest, API automation).
• Develop end-to-end and integration testing strategies for complex systems.
• Build testing-in-production practices like canary releases and phased rollouts.
• Own security-focused test automation covering auth flows and tenant isolation.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).
• Apply AI tools to accelerate test authoring and code review.
• Advise on testable code, coverage gaps, and quality checks.
• Debug and root-cause issues across frontend, backend, APIs, and distributed services.
• Define reliability metrics and track time-to-detect/remediate.
