What you’d be doing in this role
As Canva scales, change continues to be part of our DNA. This will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

1. Maturing Canva’s self-service data infrastructure so that domain teams can deliver high-impact outcomes
2. Building orchestration tooling with smart dependency logic and self-healing capabilities
3. Implementing observability practices and monitoring systems for proactive detection and resolution
4. Enhancing CI/CD pipelines and aligning them with Canva’s broader tooling ecosystem
5. Shaping the roadmap for data platform services and advocating for AI integration
6. Collaborating across teams to uplift engineering, hiring, and mentoring practices

You’re probably a match if:

1. You’ve built and scaled robust data platforms in cloud environments (AWS, Kubernetes, Snowflake)
2. You’re fluent in Python, Analytical SQL, and automation best practices
3. You love solving performance and reliability challenges in large-scale systems
4. You're proactive about observability, cost optimization, and performance monitoring

About the team
You’ll join the Warehouse Platform Team within the Data Platform Group in Canva’s Infra Supergroup. This team builds infrastructure and tools that simplify complex data workflows, empowering Canvanauts to work efficiently and at scale. We're all about making data infrastructure accessible, reliable, and innovative—enabling insights and decisions that move Canva forward.
