Job summary

Weekday AI is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer for a 3-month contract to support advanced AI development and evaluation efforts. This remote role targets North America, with preferred overlap with PST and a minimum 4 hours per day.

Immediate start and 5+ years of software engineering required, with expertise in Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, or Go. You will design rubrics, review data quality, build data pipelines, and translate complex technical work into actionable summaries

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with Python, TS, JavaScript, or Go.
• Hands-on experience with preference data collection, rubric creation, or evaluation criteria.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, code quality, debugging, and maintainable system design.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
• Ability to work independently in ambiguous environments and deliver timely results.

Responsibilities

• Design, refine, and iterate rubrics, evaluation frameworks, and quality criteria.
• Review, assess, and label data; identify quality issues.
• Build and optimize pipelines and infrastructure for data generation and evaluation.
• Synthesize findings into clear reports and actionable summaries.
• Collaborate with researchers and engineers to scale processes.
• Understand and maintain complex codebases; ensure quality and performance.
• Identify workflow inefficiencies and implement improvements.
