Optomi, in partnership with a respected leader within the defense and intelligence community, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in software engineering, data engineering, and UI development for a direct-hire opportunity in Columbia, MD.

This fully on-site position at a secured facility involves working with large, complex datasets to support decision-making processes. The role focuses on rapid prototyping and real-time data analysis in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Contributing to national security by transforming complex datasets into actionable intelligence.
• Developing solutions using a modern tech stack: OpenSearch, Kibana, React.js, Material-UI, Python, and AWS.
• Collaborating with engineers, analysts, and decision-makers in a mission-focused environment.

Ideal candidate background:

• Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly.
• 15+ years of experience in data engineering, software development, or related fields.
• Experience with large datasets and data ingestion techniques.
• Proficiency in Elasticsearch or OpenSearch, Kibana, React.js, Python, Java, or Go.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Experience with tools like Kafka or Airflow is a plus, as is familiarity with AWS or Azure.
• Experience in building advanced visualizations in Grafana is also a plus.
