Job summary

Orum is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to own end-to-end product features and deliver high-impact user experiences. The role involves building scalable systems (70% backend, 30% frontend) using a stack that includes Node.js, TypeScript, React, Ruby, PostgreSQL, GCP, and FreeSWITCH.

You will work closely with Product Managers and Designers to ship features, collaborate across teams, and mentor others while upholding engineering excellence and robust testing practices.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• 3+ years building applications with JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with an RDBMS and SQL.
• Strong commitment to maintainable, well-tested code.

Responsibilities

• Own core product features from concept to deployment and iteration.
• Design and build scalable backend and frontend systems for real-time workflows.
• Collaborate with PMs, Designers, and Engineers to shape user experiences.
• Mentor teammates and promote a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

The Role

Orum's Engineering team plays a pivotal role in driving this vision forward. We're tackling some of the toughest challenges sales teams face, and there’s still so much to build. As a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer, you'll take end-to-end ownership of critical product features, delivering seamless, high-impact user experiences in close collaboration with Product Managers and Designers. Our current stack includes Node.js, TypeScript, React, Ruby, PostgreSQL, Google Cloud Platform, and FreeSWITCH.

The Product Platform Team

The Product Platform team sits at the center of Orum’s architecture, building the foundational systems that power every product. You’ll work on CRM integrations (Salesforce, Outreach), identity and access, and the data flows that keep customer systems accurate and in sync. The team also drives AI-powered prospect enrichment, combining internal and external data to create smarter, continuously improving prospect profiles. Your work has massive leverage, accelerating every team, enabling the platform to scale seamlessly, and unlocking AI-driven innovation by creating the reliable foundations and data flows needed to build smarter, more intelligent products across Orum.

What You’ll Do

• Own core product features, from initial concept and discovery through implementation, deployment, and iterative improvement.
• Design and build scalable systems (70% backend, 30% frontend) that power real-time, high-volume workflows - such as routing calls with our event-driven SIP Softswitch or processing audio streams for advanced speech recognition.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with PMs, Designers, and Engineers to shape and deliver intuitive, performant experiences. Your input will directly influence the roadmap—we value engineering, product, and design equally.
• You are a role model for engineering excellence. Mentor and support teammates by sharing knowledge, offering feedback, and fostering a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.
• Drive technical excellence by helping define and uphold coding standards that keep our codebase clean, maintainable, and scalable.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience owning features or products through the full lifecycle - from discovery to release to iteration
• 6+ years of professional software development experience
• 3+ years of experience building applications with JavaScript/TypeScript
• Experience working with an RDBMS using SQL
• Deep appreciation for simple, maintainable, and well-tested code
