Bloomberg is seeking senior software engineers to design and build infrastructure platforms that provision, configure, validate, monitor, and operate critical production systems at scale.
The role focuses on automation, reliability, and platform architecture, with opportunities to mentor other engineers and shape engineering standards within a critical internal platform at Bloomberg.
Bloomberg operates critical production infrastructure that supports products and services used by clients around the world. Our team builds the software platforms and automation that allow this infrastructure to be provisioned, configured, validated, monitored, and operated safely at scale.
We are modernizing operator-driven processes into reliable and repeatable software workflows. Our work includes infrastructure-as-code, deployment and configuration systems, automated validation, observability, capacity management, rollback tooling, and operational workflows.
This is an end-to-end ownership role. You will design and build software platforms while also helping operate the production services those platforms manage. You will work on complex systems where correctness, reliability, scalability, and operational safety are essential.
We are looking for senior software engineers who enjoy building infrastructure platforms, can reason carefully about production systems, and are comfortable learning new technical domains. Deep experience with the underlying infrastructure is not required. Strong software engineering fundamentals, sound technical judgment, and experience building reliable automation are more important.
This is an opportunity for engineers who want to build platform software with meaningful production impact, improve how infrastructure changes are delivered, and help shape the engineering standards and architecture for a critical internal platform.
