You’ll find belonging, purpose, and a team that welcomes you—because when you feel valued, you’re empowered to do your best work.

Job Summary

Core Product Services at Equinix, the world’s digital infrastructure company, is growing our platform engineering team. If you are an experienced engineer interested in building services that shape how the next generation of infrastructure is delivered, we’d like to hear from you. This role can be remote or based in one of our office locations.

Responsibilities

As an individual contributor on a small, focused team, you will help build and maintain the internal platform for Equinix’s digital product portfolio. At the center of our platform is a global footprint of Kubernetes clusters deployed on-premises and in the cloud. We support our customers—Equinix engineers—with a robust set of core services, including CI/CD, observability, and an internal developer portal.

To succeed in this role, you should bring both deep Kubernetes expertise and a passion for improving developer experience. You should understand not only what Kubernetes makes possible, but also its limitations and the patterns that should be developed around it.

You will:

  • Prioritize developer experience—our customers are Equinix engineers, and they deserve the best
  • Navigate ambiguity and contribute to both the “what” and the “how” of internal platform development
  • Proactively identify weaknesses and drive solutions with a self-starter mindset
  • Promote a DevOps culture and contribute across our ecosystem of tools, regardless of team boundaries
  • Mentor and support junior team members, helping them grow their skills and effectiveness
  • Collaboratively write RFCs and blueprints to define patterns, architecture, and direction
  • Care deeply about technology, craftsmanship, and the success of your teammates and company
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support platform services in production
  • Contribute to software design and system architecture, ensuring components support rapid development and deployment
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of engineering experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Hands-on experience operating Kubernetes (preferably on bare metal)
  • Experience with CI/CD systems
  • Experience with Linux and containerization
  • Experience operating production systems and willingness to participate in an on-call rotation
  • Strong desire to learn and grow
  • Preferred: Experience with Cluster API (CAPI)
  • Preferred: Experience with Go or another high-level programming language
  • Preferred: Background in platform engineering
