Job summary

Q.ANT is building photonic processing systems that compute with light for AI and HPC workloads. Lead Software Engineer will bridge software across stacks from optimized algorithms to developer resources, collaborating with partners and internal teams to demonstrate photonic advantages.

You will work on performance‑critical code, demos, and PoCs, with exposure to AI frameworks, hardware acceleration, and open source workflows, while communicating with stakeholders and shaping product enablement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering across the stack with Python, C/C++, and Rust for performance‑critical components.
• 5+ years working with external partners, clients, or developer communities.
• Deep expertise in AI algorithms and scientific computing (PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow) with understanding of hardware acceleration architectures.
• Experience developing demos/PoCs for novel hardware platforms and creating technical enablement content for developers is a plus.
• Familiarity with Open Source development workflows and tooling (GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, test frameworks, Jupyter notebooks, package distribution).
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS/CE/Physics/Mathematics or related field.
• Fluent in English; German is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Figure out how algorithms make a difference with photonics.
• Optimize algorithms and develop performance‑critical code (Python, C/C++, Rust) to showcase photonic hardware benchmarks.
• Collaborate with algorithms and software ecosystem teams to refine designs and provide feedback.
• Work with external partners and clients on use cases and PoCs that show value of photonic computing for AI/workloads.
• Build developer‑facing assets: tutorials, reference implementations, demos, benchmarks, Jupyter notebooks, documentation.
• Deliver public presentations, workshops, and briefings on photonic computing applications.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and timelines across client engagements.
• Contribute to Q.ANT's Open Source initiatives and developer ecosystem.
