Job summary

Rise8 is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a mission-driven, 100% distributed workforce in the United States. You will decompose complex problems into actionable agentic development tasks, pair with clients and military personnel, and learn each client’s language to ensure impactful software releases.

You will lead with autonomy, collaborate across product, design, and engineering, and continuously improve engineering approaches to deliver value weekly.

Qualifications

• Active DoD security clearance required.
• 6–10 years software development experience.
• Proficient in Palantir Foundry / Warp Core.
• Experience with AI-assisted development.
• Strong knowledge of algorithms and software architecture.
• Experience with Docker or Kubernetes.
• Experience with TDD and agile methodologies.
• Experience with API development.
• Linux environment experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Decompose business problems into clear, actionable instructions for agentic development.
• Lead enablement engagements with client developers, engineers, and military personnel.
• Learn client preferences and establish a shared ubiquitous language for collaboration.
• Continuously refine approaches to engineer new ways of working.
• Contribute to week-over-week delivery and capture real-time feedback from users.
• Balance team delivery with user needs, business objectives, and stakeholder vision.
