Job summary

Vivid Seats, based in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer for the Orders team to build and support systems driving multi-million dollar monthly revenue.

You will work with Java, Python, Node.js and modern front-end tech, delivering scalable solutions and collaborating across teams to maximize value and efficiency. The role emphasizes shipping clean code, contributing to architectural decisions, and mentoring peers in a hybrid in-office/remote environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and supporting production web applications.
• Experience with Java, Python, Node.js.
• Front-end experience with TypeScript, React, Next.js.
• Experience designing, building, and testing modern web or cross-platform solutions in an Agile setting.
• Experience with client-side state libraries (Redux, Zustand) and front-end testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, Enzyme).
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to document and share best practices across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead direction of the technology systems powering our ticket marketplace offerings.
• Develop experiments and innovative solutions to gain competitive advantage and improve team performance.
• Collaborate with other dev teams and stakeholders to deliver impact iteratively.
• Tackle scaling challenges of an e-commerce marketplace with innovative algorithms and features.
• Maintain and promote best practices across the software development lifecycle.
• Mentor other engineers through pairing, code reviews, and tech talks.
