Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking a Software Engineer to join the C2BMC JEMINI Program in Colorado Springs, CO, focusing on the development of advanced missile defense capabilities. This role involves software development in Java and collaboration with a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment.
What You Will Do
- Provide specialized expertise across multiple software and systems disciplines, with general knowledge of related areas and customer requirements.
- Conduct in-depth analysis and provide technical support for systems software products, including problem resolution, design, development, testing, and operational integration.
- Develop, modify, and implement operating systems applications based on provided specifications.
- Assist in design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of software programs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges, establish standards, and enhance system efficiency.
- Design, code, test, and implement tools for operations automation.
- Work on most phases of software systems programming applications with minimal supervision.
What You Will Learn
- Develop enterprise-grade applications on Linux platforms.
- Hone problem-solving skills to diagnose performance and operational issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Utilize development and management tools such as Maven, Git/GitHub, Nexus, and Eclipse.

Qualifications You Must Have
- Proven experience with Java and software engineering, particularly in Java/J2EE, C , or Object-Oriented Programming (OO).
- Strong knowledge of software engineering practices, including coding standards, automated testing, build pipelines, and configuration management.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to resolve performance issues and develop solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in team environments.
- Experience working with Agile development methodologies.
- Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Active TS clearance.
- Security or equivalent certification.
- Hands‑on experience as part of an Agile team.
- Familiarity with Java Spring.

Salary Range
The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
