Job summary

AppFolio is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Resident Onboarding team, guiding the design of end-to-end onboarding services for new residents and their data pipelines. You will own architecture decisions and partner integrations to ensure scalable, resilient systems within AppFolio's Real Estate Performance Management platform.

We value engineers who think in systems, set long-term direction, and mentor teammates while delivering thoughtful, testable code in an agile environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building and operating production web services.
• Ownership of multi-service architecture from design to production support.
• Production experience with Ruby on Rails, Go, or a comparable web stack.

Responsibilities

• Understand resident onboarding domain end-to-end on the team.
• Design and evolve onboarding service architecture with integrations and data pipelines.
• Lead design reviews and drive trade-off decisions to closure.
• Develop scalable, robust solutions for complex business problems.
• Define observability and alerting standards for services.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and pairing.
