  • Working knowledge of EVMS and CAM/WP Manager responsibilities.
  • Eligibility to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the software engineering lifecycle, including estimating, planning, requirements analysis, architecture, design, implementation, unit testing, hardware/software integration, and range testing.
  • Collaborate with software architects and multidisciplinary teams to resolve technical issues and optimize system performance, quality, and cost.
  • Coordinate cybersecurity activities within the software domain.
  • Monitor technical performance, costs, and schedules, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Plan software schedules and builds to align with product development milestones.
  • Coordinate internal resources and external subcontracted software development.
  • Provide constructive performance and development feedback for project personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with established business management procedures and software safety requirements.
  • Support software verification planning, test environments, and test execution.
  • Support Software Quality Assurance and Software Configuration Management audits.
  • Lead formal requirements, preliminary design, critical design, and test readiness reviews with government representatives.
  • Present project metrics and technical status and communicate risks, issues, and opportunities to leadership.

Job description

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer for our client to lead software development efforts supporting munitions programs. This role combines hands‑on real-time embedded software development with technical project leadership, with approximately 60% focused on software design and development and 40% on leading software projects.



  • Lead the software engineering lifecycle, including estimating, planning, requirements analysis, architecture, design, implementation, unit testing, hardware/software integration, and range testing.

  • Evaluate software requirements against customer needs, performance goals, and contractual Statements of Work.

  • Collaborate with software architects and multidisciplinary teams to resolve technical issues and optimize system performance, quality, and cost.

  • Coordinate cybersecurity activities within the software domain.

  • Monitor technical performance, costs, and schedules, implementing corrective actions as needed.

  • Manage Control Accounts or Work Packages and provide Estimates at Completion (EAC) to support Earned Value Management System (EVMS) reporting.

  • Plan software schedules and builds to align with product development milestones.

  • Coordinate internal resources and external subcontracted software development.

  • Provide constructive performance and development feedback for project personnel.

  • Ensure compliance with established business management procedures and software safety requirements.

  • Support software verification planning, test environments, and test execution.

  • Support Software Quality Assurance and Software Configuration Management audits.

  • Lead formal requirements, preliminary design, critical design, and test readiness reviews with government representatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Eligibility to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Pay Range: $58.00- $63.00per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
