Job description

**Summary:**

Oculus Studios Central Technology is a core team within Oculus Studios focused on enhancing shared technologies and supporting First Party Oculus Studios (including Armature Studios, Beat Games, BigBox VR, Camouflaj, Sanzaru Games, Twisted Pixel, Supernatural, and OURO) in their mission to create compelling immersive content. We seek engineers passionate about immersive experiences and experienced in developing and maintaining common solutions for game studios, providing direct support when needed.

**Responsibilities:**

  1. Collaborate directly with the Oculus Studios Technical Director to define priorities and technological goals for multi-year projects.
  2. Implement consistent and reliable systems in a dynamic development environment to support first-party developers.
  3. Build and maintain relationships with Oculus partners, representing technical interests and facilitating impact across teams.
  4. Work across various development environments as needed, including but not limited to C++, C#, Python, Hack, JavaScript, Unity, Unreal, Visual Studio, Ryder.
  5. Promote technical knowledge sharing within Oculus Studios through documentation, demonstrations, code samples, and advocacy.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
  1. 8+ years of experience in learning new approaches, coding languages, and Meta-specific solutions.
  2. At least 5 years of experience in immersive media or game development.
  3. Minimum of 5 years of development experience using Unreal, Unity, or native engines.
  4. Expertise in C/C++/C# coding within 3D entertainment or gaming contexts.
  5. Broad understanding of game development and enterprise-scale infrastructure.
  6. Experience collaborating across disciplines to deliver products.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
  1. Experience shipping AAA titles or large enterprise solutions.
  2. Over 8 years of experience in developing and maintaining large-scale development infrastructure for games or enterprise environments.
  3. Knowledge of frameworks such as GraphQL, Graph API, Ent Framework.
  4. Experience as a full-stack developer in distributed environments.
  5. Building user-facing tools using Hack, JavaScript, React, etc.
  6. Developing supportable solutions with alerting, monitoring, and metrics.
  7. Experience with cloud providers like AWS or Azure.
  8. Experience working with distributed computing platforms.
  9. Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or Engineering.
**Compensation:**

$177,000 to $251,000 annually, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
