Baltimore County's Office of Information Technology is seeking a software engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable applications for county agencies and constituents.
You will contribute to cloud and on-prem solutions, provide guidance to teams, and support the full product lifecycle from implementation to ongoing enhancements.

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is seeking a software engineer to help build and evolve our application ecosystem and data capabilities. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain performant applications that support County agencies and constituents, ensuring they remain reliable, scalable, and secure. You will contribute to cloud and on-prem solutions, provide technical guidance to teams and end users, and support the full product lifecycle—from implementation to continuous enhancement.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business, and/or related field.
At least five years’ experience in leading the development and support of software applications.
Additional experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of four years for the required education.

Applicants will be qualified based on an evaluation of their training and experience, as stated on their application. Applicants must state the dates and duties of past and present experience clearly and completely for evaluation purposes. This position works an average scheduled workweek of 34 hours, Monday through Friday. May occasionally require additional hours, which may include weekends, evenings and holidays. 24 x 7 on call required for production problems.
