Job summary

ByteDance in San Jose, within the Technology team, is seeking a skilled network security engineer to design and build security products and support clients.

You will work on Firewall, Anti-DDoS, WAF, NDR and related technologies, requiring strong C/Go, Linux, and networking expertise, plus experience with AI/ML models.

Qualifications

• Self-driven, problem solver with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• BS or higher in CS/EE or related field, with 5+ years in cybersecurity software development.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols (NAT, VXLAN, BGP, DNS, HTTP, L7-thrift, FTP).
• Experience with DPDK or eBPF.
• Proficiency in C and Go with strong Linux background.
• Experience building AI/ML models or fine-tuning with LLM.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of networking & networking protocols, like NAT, Vxlan, BGP, DNS, HTTP, L7-proxy Thrift, FTP etc.
• Good understanding of DPDK or eBPF.
• Proficient with C and GO and strong background in Linux systems.
• Experience in building AI/ML models or training/fine-tune with LLM.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with firewall or WAF development.
• Threat detection analysis experience with Spark SQL.
