Job summary

Precise Systems seeks a Senior Software Engineer for NSWC Dahlgren to design, develop, and integrate software for naval platforms. Work spans real-time embedded systems and modern languages in a defense-focused environment.

The role requires 10+ years in software engineering, container experience with Docker/Podman, and UML/OOP design. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance are mandatory. Remote work is not indicated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher degree in engineering or computer science or related field.
• Ten (10) years of software design, development and engineering experience at program and system level.
• Three (3) years in containerized environments (Docker/Podman).
• Five (5) years fixing and building weapons systems software, databases (Oracle, MS Access).
• Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems and interfaces.
• Experience with Electronic Warfare and shipboard systems.
• Knowledge of combat system integration and system architecture.
• Experience with IV&V, cyber security and information assurance.
• Proficiency in C++, C#, Rust, Java, Simulink, Python, GNAT Ada, VxWorks, Tornado, JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with protocols TCP/IP, UDP, RTI DDS, PLA, and serial communications.
• Object oriented design concepts and Agile methodologies.
• U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance.
