KLA is seeking a Software Engineer in Hillsboro, Oregon to design, develop, and maintain complex SW/HW integrated systems. The role emphasizes multithreaded and multiprocessing programming with C++/C# across Windows and Linux environments.

The engineer will collaborate with hardware, systems, and algorithm teams, apply debugging skills, and leverage AI tools to accelerate workflows in a fast-paced semiconductor equipment setting.

Qualifications

• Doctorate (Academic) Degree and related work experience of 1 year
• Master’s Level Degree and related work experience of 4 years
• Bachelor’s Level Degree and related work experience of 6 years
• Proven experience developing and troubleshooting multidisciplinary SW/HW systems
• Strong programming expertise in C++ and/or C#
• Experience with multithreading and multiprocessing concepts
• Hands-on experience developing applications on Windows and/or Linux operating systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on debugging complex systems

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software components for complex SW/HW integrated systems
• Build high-performance, scalable applications leveraging C++, C#, .NET Core, and .NET Framework on Windows and Linux platforms
• Develop and optimize multithreaded and multiprocessing applications for performance-critical systems
• Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, systems, and algorithm teams to integrate software into end-to-end solutions
• Diagnose and resolve system-level issues using strong debugging and troubleshooting techniques
• Leverage AI tools and technologies to accelerate development, testing, and analysis workflows
• Contribute to system architecture, design reviews, and technical decision-making
• Communicate technical concepts clearly through presentations, documentation, and cross-team discussions
