Talon Defense, Inc. is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for Modeling & Simulation in Dahlgren, VA on-site with limited telework.

You will develop, extend, and integrate software across mission-focused modeling and simulation efforts, collaborating with engineers, analysts, and SMEs to translate mission needs into software requirements. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of experience
• Strong experience in C++, Java, Python, or C#; emphasis on C++/Java
• Experience designing, developing, testing, debugging, and maintaining production-quality software
• Experience with back-end services, APIs, data processing, and user interfaces
• Ability to understand and extend complex architectures
• Experience with Git-based workflows and CI/CD tools

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software for modeling, simulation, and analysis
• Extend models and simulation frameworks with new functionality and integrations
• Integrate external applications, data sources, models, and algorithms
• Automate simulation configuration, execution, data processing, and analysis workflows
• Develop services, APIs, and user-facing tools for analysts
• Translate mission needs into software requirements and tasks
• Contribute to code reviews, testing, CI/CD, and documentation
• Troubleshoot complex software issues and adapt to evolving requirements
