Job summary

BigBear.ai is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to create scalable, custom analytics. You will collaborate with data scientists and end users to develop analytic tools for discovery and tradecraft around global challenges, then operationalize these data science insights.

The role requires 8+ years of software development, a TS/SCI w/ Poly clearance, and proficiency in core languages (Java/C#/C++/Python/JavaScript/TypeScript).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology.
• 8 years of professional software development experience, or equivalent.
• Clearance: TS/SCI w/ Poly.
• Demonstrated experience delivering production-quality software.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, C#, C++, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript).
• Experience with software design principles, OO/functional programming, and patterns.
• Experience with source-control systems, automated testing, and defect tracking.
• Ability to translate requirements into well-engineered software solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, integrate, and maintain software applications and services.
• Translate business, system, and customer requirements into technical solutions.
• Develop clean, maintainable, well-documented, and testable code.
• Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews.
• Analyze technical problems and implement effective solutions.
• Develop unit, integration, system, and automated regression tests.
• Troubleshoot defects, performance issues, deployment problems, and production incidents.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define interfaces, data flows, and integration requirements.
• Support CI/CD practices and documentation of procedures and standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve system performance, reliability, security, and maintainability.
