Job summary

Medtronic is seeking a software engineer to evaluate and implement changes for released medical devices and supporting tools. You will design, test, and document software changes, participating in governance boards and risk reviews within a highly regulated framework.

Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, communicating changes, and delivering on project goals while maintaining quality system compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years experience with C++, C# and Java.
• Experience in Linux, Windows, and cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of OOA&D concepts.
• Working knowledge of software development best practices.
• Experience in medical device or other highly regulated environments with established software development and change management processes.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates software change requests to released medical devices and supporting tools.
• Designs, implements, and tests software changes for released products while staying true to the original design integrity.
• Participates in change control board, risk reviews, and other project meetings as necessary.
• Works with cross functional team to communicate changes, and understand impacts to their function.
• Creates documentation throughout the development process.
• Commits to achieving and exceeding project goals and timelines.
• Performs duties in compliance with the Quality System.
