Job summary

Northgate Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Product Development team.

You will develop and sustain software for clinically critical medical devices, collaborating with mechanical and electrical engineers to meet safety and performance standards. The role involves designing software architecture, writing microprocessor-based C and assembly code, and creating testing protocols to verify and validate product launches and line extensions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Software, Electrical, or Biomedical Engineering.
• 4+ years in medical device or highly regulated environment.
• 1+ year embedded systems development.
• Proficiency in C and assembly; Linux migration experience.
• Experience with FDA 21 CFR 820; ISO and IEC 62304.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and sustain software for medical devices.
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers.
• Create software architecture and specs.
• Develop microprocessor-based C/assembly software.
• Prepare test protocols and verification/validation reports.
• Support risk management and CAPA processes.
• Learn and apply new technologies quickly.
• Help ensure FDA and ISO compliance.
