Job summary

Oliver James Associates Ltd. is partnering with a leading Life Insurance organization to hire a Senior Software Engineer focused on Mainframe & AWS integration. This remote role blends hands-on engineering across legacy systems with modern cloud capabilities.

You will extend and integrate the Mainframe-based annuity policy environment with AWS, build data stores, event-driven processing, and AI-enabled analysis while contributing to architecture discussions and end-to-end implementation.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Mainframe engineering experience with COBOL, CICS, DB2.
• Strong Python development and AWS integration experience.
• Experience building REST APIs and event-driven integrations.

Responsibilities

• Extend and integrate Mainframe with AWS using modern capabilities.
• Develop integrations, an Operational Data Store on AWS.
• Participate in architecture discussions and end-to-end implementation.
