Senior Software Engineer – Listing Visibility (w/m/d)

You’ll be joining one of the world’s largest privately owned real estate tech companies. Our mission is to unlock everyone’s perfect place! You’ll work across some of Europe’s best known digital real estate brands including: Meilleurs Agents, Groupe SeLoger, Immoweb, Immowelt, Housell, and Yad2.

Job location – Berlin or Paris. Hybrid model.

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will develop and maintain backend infrastructure, APIs, and services to support supply-demand matching initiatives. This role offers autonomy and creativity in shaping product strategy and implementing white-label solutions.

• Listing Sort Order
• Listing Classified Quality Score

What you can expect:

• Impact: Be part of a large tech organization with 50+ delivery teams, affecting many stakeholders.
• Ranking Design: Create scalable backend systems for marketplace quality and matching efficiency.
• Challenge the Status Quo: Analyze existing scoring systems and evaluate migration to white-label capabilities.
• API Development: Build RESTful APIs with data validation and authentication for secure, seamless integration.
• Optimization: Enhance backend performance, scalability, security, and flexibility for white-label configs.
• Code Quality: Conduct reviews and uphold coding standards.
• Collaboration: Work with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Product Analysts for seamless data and frontend integration.
• Continuous Improvement: Monitor and improve backend system performance and reliability.

About you:

• Strong communication skills and ability to give/receive constructive feedback.
• Quick learner with curiosity and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive attitude and experience in backend development, APIs, data solutions, and distributed systems.
• Experience with microservices, serverless, or event-driven architectures.
• Proficiency in modern programming languages (Python, JS/TS, Java, Kotlin, C#, Go, etc).
• Nice to have: DevOps, Data Engineering, or Data Science experience.
