Job summary

Leidos Defense in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Software Engineer to support counter UAS and missile defense software in a Linux environment using C++ and Python. This role focuses on the full software lifecycle within a SAFe framework and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams across engineering disciplines.

The successful candidate will perform peer reviews, automated testing, and troubleshooting in HWIL, and join a team working with Jira and GitLab in a fast-paced defense setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited university with 12+ years of experience or Master’s degree with 10+ years.
• Strong competency in at least C/C++, Python.
• Experience with software engineering throughout the software lifecycle.
• Experience with software best practices such as peer reviews, automated testing, and document generation.
• Experience collaborating with other functional groups to create a software product.
• Experience working within an Agile environment.
• Experience using Jira and GitLab.
• Experience developing within Qt IDE.
• Experience developing in a Linux environment.
• Familiarity troubleshooting/testing software in a HWIL environment.
• Currently living in Huntsville, AL or willing to relocate.
• Currently holds an active Secret clearance.
