Job summary

Midpage is hiring a backend generalist to build and maintain data pipelines, APIs, and core utilities in a fast-paced startup environment in NYC. On-site work is required, with a focus on Python, SQL, and infrastructure tasks.

Prior startup experience and a solid foundation in data engineering are highly valued. You will work across pipelines, web scrapers, and core services, contributing to reliability, scalability, and API exposure in a modern stack including Python, Postgres, and cloud

Qualifications

• 2+ yrs backend technical generalist (fullstack bonus), startup experience ideal
• Data pipelines + basic/intermediate infra/devops
• Python and SQL; stats/ML bonus
• US citizen/GC

Responsibilities

• Pipelines enriching case-law documents with metadata (overrules, appeals, remands)
• Reliability/accuracy of hundreds of web scrapers
• Optimize/evaluate core utils (citation extraction/resolution, court hierarchy)
• Expose services via APIs, MCPs, websockets
• Benchmark/evaluate core tasks
