Job summary

Leonardo DRS is hiring a Senior Software Engineer in Beavercreek, Ohio. The role focuses on design, development, testing, and debugging of complex software applications and systems for defense and intelligence products.

You will lead a technical group, collaborate with customers, and contribute to cost and schedule planning. Strong OO software skills in C/C++, C#, or similar languages are required, with additional Rust familiarity preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field with minimum 5 years of experience.
• Proficient in C/C++ or C# with strong object-oriented skills.
• Able to lead a technical group independently.

Responsibilities

• Involved in design, development, analysis, testing and debugging of software applications and systems.
• Lead a group of engineers on a technical activity and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems.
• Review customer specifications and develop designs to support them with cost as a key variable.
• Provide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments.
• Specify and evaluate supplier components and services.
• Drive the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements.
• Develop prototypes to retire development risks.
• Communicate clearly with team and customers; participate in proposals.
